"Dress the 3 heroes to success in the second installment of Fromsoftware's coordinate RPG series, Evergrace 2."
Please note, these are not my scans.
Translation of an Evergrace 2 article from Dengeki Playstation, volume 181. Well... Certain bits of it. I noticed it on the Retromags website, posted not long ago. Thank you to E-day for scanning and releasing, Crimsonfox for editing, and boringhexi for donating the magazine. WOW! Now, regarding the article itself, it's a run of the mill walkthrough article.... UNTIL!
There's several sections within the article that share tips and advice straight from the characters themselves! You've got Saris with fighting advice, Darius with colosseum tips, Felk with Palmira farming, and... SHARLINE WITH FASHION ADVICE?!
Yeah, it was way too funny not to translate. Don't take these as canon, though - could Sharline really travel through space and time to roast Fae and Dar's fashion sense? So powerful, not even in the game itself yet she's here regardless. Anyhow, check out the magazine scans on Retromags!
There's also extra parts to the article which are pretty neat. Something about a special gift on Evergrace 2's official page, but it was only available to view on a certain day and logging in with a certain account. And no, Wayback Machine didn't record that certain day. Kind of a shame... I've included the lovely art of Fae and Ruy here anyways, just because we all deserve to see them. wuv
And, you might wonder why Ruyan isn't in any of these cute in-character sections. Well, our genius Ruy is in volume 180! That's why! Thanks to Retromags for scanning that too - it's even better than this magazine, with interviews up the butt. Maybe another time...
Note: The meaning of coordinate below is in terms of fashion combinations, or コーディネート.
*Chief Evergrace Officer
Sharline here! How's everyone doing? At the moment I've been flung off to some weird land thanks to Darius, but if you're talking about coordinates, I just can't stay quiet! From here on out it's gonna be all about coordinates, so open your ears and listen to your big sis!
First off, keeping consistent with one attribute across your weapon and outfit is the key to perfection! And if you've got high quality equipment, well, that's all the better!
But still, I suspect that shopkeeper is as picky as ever, 'cuz he keeps disagreeing with my, ahem, BEAUTIFUL SENSE of fashion... The important thing is just to keep trying again and again with him. But, be careful if he gives you a title that's lower than the one you have now! Because then you'll be stuck with the worst of the two titles, alright?
Okay, Faeana, Darius, lemme see what you two've come up with. Pronto!
Since it's summer right now, I tried to go with some breezy clothes. I think that with this, I'll be able to steal Darius's heart. But, erm, I don't want to bare my legs... I still want to get closer to him, so...
You've got some pretty good style here! Well, but, if you don't show a bit of leg then there's no chance you'll steal his heart. Anyways, on to Darius... How do YOU shape up?
We’re living in the times of gender equality now. So I’m wielding a soup ladle. I’ve also got a self-powered light on my head, but I’m trying to balance it all out with a little sexy piece for my bod. Wait, put that aside, Sharline, you’re alive!? SHARLINE!!!!
What the - did your sense of style die in a fire or something?! This is just like something Morpheus would wear! Wait, are YOU actually Morpheus in disguise!? MORPHEUS!!!!
And a bonus scene from me ;P Nothing to do with the article at all, nope
"Hello, Sharline? I've brought the pointer stick you asked for. It even makes noi - WHAT IS GOING ON HERE"
yes that is a leave it to piyoko reference. di gi charat spinoff ref okay. okay
Yo there! You can call me Felk! Being the generous person I am, I’m gonna teach you ALL about the hotspots for farmin’ Palmira pieces! By the way, I may be at the Shrine of Mist with my newly made friends, but this place sucks for farming! Anyways…
First up are these three places where Palmira Bees pop up. Gotta mention this too, they’re super weak enemies - you won’t even need to break a sweat gettin’ a whole bunch of Zoe and Palmira Pieces at once! Er, well, you guys DO have to line your attacks up juuust right to make it work.
You oughta train up before you meet me! Guess the one caveat is that there’s not a lot of attacks to work with THAT early on, but oy, you might just find something you’ll use till the end of the game!
So this time around, you’re gonna bring your skills to the one place Palmira Bees love to swarm. Who knows how many of ‘em are hidden here, so if you can keep up your combos, you can get craploads of Red Palmira pieces! It all depends on your guys’ skill, got it? SKILL.
Well then, adios!
My Palmira Action’s pretty hard to land combos with! Maybe ‘cuz I’m on a whole other level than you guys!
Perfect place to practice your combos, gotta say. Pick them Palmira Actions well!
Oy, what’s over in that east storehouse? C’mon, give that box a wallop!
Hit the hell outta this tree and boulder first. And then, it’s all hands on deck with the Palmira Actions! Hit 'em fast and with all your gusto into it!
Note: Alayna cannot vouch for any advice given here as I don't have access to a PS2 anymore. Nor does Forever Kingdom work too well on my computer. Hee hee.
