Eternal Ring is a light novel authored by Masaru Takeuchi and published by MediaWorks in 2000. I wish I could tell you more about the story but your girl hasn't even played the game before. However, it does seem to be a straight retelling of the game, with lovely illustrations interspersed by the artist RURU.

No, seriously, all I know about Eternal Ring is from watching a review video and some popular Souls dude playing it on his livestream and the things my friends tell me about the game. HOWEVER! I know there are some Eternal Ring fans in my life and I think they deserve this after 22 years. All together the cost was like 30 dollars anyways :P
